Like I mentioned yesterday, what we thought was our last weekend at the lake ended up being our first weekend at the new lake house so we had a great weekend. It was another hot one so no happy hours on the porch but the sun was out for two great dock days. We had some friends up visiting plus their dog in addition to our two dogs so there was great company.
Furniture was delivered and we moved some more things down from the old house and the rest of the time was spent in the sun. Much of the day was spent IN the lake enjoying the floats, playing on the jet ski and skiing off the boat.
Saturday we didn't end our dock time before about 6:30. Happy hours are always popular at the lake and the traditional clam dip was served amongst some additional items each night. In the excitement of the new change, picture taking was plentiful so a photo overload of the weekend below...
Saturday night it was another leisurely cocktail hour, a late hamburger with the classic sides dinner and visiting with family from the other two houses. In cleaning out the old house we found old maid and we were hooked into playing many rounds bringing us right back to childhood.
Sunday was another round down on the dock. Once we got up and moving we made our way right down there to take advantage of the quiet lake and a great breeze. After a hot dog lunch/dinner we all packed up to get back home for the week. Stella has never been too sure of the water (probably because Derek just drops her off the deck and expects her to swim) and since the other two dogs were in the water the whole time, she finally caved and my brother helped her get a start and now she's a swimmer too! (she even swam out to the middle of the lake since she saw me floating out there!)
One final lake house visit of the summer awaits us before we close out the old house for good, close up the new house for the season and decide on our expansions to complete on the house for next season.
