Friday's Five: Christmas Sweet Treats

I'm looking forward to a low-key Christmas-y day at home today with some wrapping, movie watching and baking.  The best week of the year is upon us and I'm trying to be a little better about baking throughout the week instead of all at once at the last minute.

With baking on the agenda today (some of my traditional favorites), I've been browsing some new recipes to add in with the usuals so I thought I'd share some of my favorite recent finds...

These are on my baking list for today - they look simple, festive and delicious.

I've made gingerbread houses but never cookies - I'd love to give these traditional cookies a try.

Anything with meltaway in the title sounds good to me - and peppermint flavor is the perfect after dinner treat.

Three ingredients, butterscotch flavoring and seem to be pretty easy to make.

Mmm Red Velvet is the best flavor and also festive for the holiday.

Some others that caught my eye...

  4. I've made something similar to those butterscotch cookies before but with peanut butter. I bet butterscotch would be so good! Actually all of these look really good! I don't know if I could make any and have them around the house because I would eat them all!

  13. Surprisingly, we don't bake a lot during the holidays, probably because I don't want to have to eat them all myself. But all of those cookies seriously look so delicious, maybe I'll do some baking this weekend too!
