Scenes from Christmas Break

It's January 13th - yesterday was 62 degrees, earlier this week it was 22 degrees and Christmas Break already feels like forever ago.  Blogging has been spotty lately so today we're turning it back a couple weeks to Christmas Break.  I love all the fun aspects that come along with blogging but it's also my scrapbook so my goal was to grab a photo a day over break which sort of worked out (break used loosely, Derek and I both worked a little bit each day).

Mmm Christmas Cheer.  Just prior to break we had some friends over to have the first tastes (we finished our first jug of it on Christmas Eve Eve - our earliest for sure - thanks to our house guests!)

The day after Christmas, Stella was as sad as I was that it was over!  We slept in at my parents house and all had leftovers from Christmas breakfast before we headed home to put away gifts and then spent the rest of the day doing nothing! We made some Mexican to enjoy during the cowboys game that night.

On the 27th we hosted our final family holiday event at here at this house! We always have a "Christmas Night" in addition actually spending Christmas night together with all our extended family and Derek and I usually host - just casual watching the bowl games.

Now that it's over, I miss all the Christmas baking, I like to keep it going through the break so on the 28th we mad our last round of cookies!

We usually ditch the diets and also have extra family dinners over the holiday so it was off to our favorite Mexican restaurant later on in the week.

Always such a sad sight! Christmas coming down on the 30th... Typically we leave it up through the new year but since we were leaving town it came down a little early.  All three of the trees stayed up (minus the ornaments) until last weekend though.

And to finish out the week, and the year (!!!), we celebrated New Year's Eve with friends, appetizers, desserts and drinks - the perfect way to wrap things up.  We hurried into bed after the ball drop to wake up and get to the airport at 5am.

Happy Weekend! xx
